I can't quite decide if my attitude toward other members of the BOLD crew is admiration or envy. Each of them is wonderfully skilled at things I cannot do. So, that would be admiration, I guess. On the other hand, some of the BOLD crew are wonderfully skilled at things I used to do, just not nearly as well. That would be envy, right? (Could this be a new word: admirenvy?)

Mainly what I do around BOLD is stuff no one else wants to do. It is quite a variety of important stuff. I do each thing in 10 minute chunks, interrupted by messages. My work life is a continuum of interruptions. Want to trade?

How did I get to this point? Well, the short story is that I began as a consultant and decided to grow my practice into a company. Along the way, I stopped consulting and began managing. That's how it works. I have skillfully employed the Peter Principal to move just beyond my highest level of competence.

But, seriously...for over 10 years, I have striven to provide a consistently superior work environment for BOLDies. My (proven) theory is that people will excel when they enjoy a well-ordered workplace with good equipment, sturdy, well-designed furnishings, and the stability of regular paychecks, good benefits and an atmosphere of respect and trust.
